Sugaring & Laser
Hair Removal

As you're surely aware, there's a lot to consider and it's important to do your research first whether you're looking for SUGARING or LASER Hair Removal.

SUGARING

Sugaring hair removal is safe, natural, and uses no chemical additives

Sugaring is an ancient method of hair removal, dating back to the Egyptians.

Sugaring is considered to be less painful than waxing and is an alternative for those who have sensitive skin.

At Katrinaaissa Beauty Artistry, we make and use our own natural and organic paste.

THE PREP

  • Exfoliate the skin a minimum of 2 days before your appointment. Do not exfoliate the day before, the day of or the day after.

  • For best results, hair should be at least a 1/4 of an inch long.

  • Take 1 or 2 extra strength Tylenol or Advil 1 hour prior to treatment.

AFTER CARE

  • Do not exfoliate the skin for 48 hours after treatment

  • Avoid deodorant for 24 hours after underarm sugaring

  • Avoid heat (including saunas, steam rooms and hot yoga studios)

  • Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds and infrared lamps

  • Avoid working out (skip the gym for the day)

  • Avoid using Make-up (if you had facial treatment)

  • Avoid touching, scratching or rubbing the treated area

  • Do not apply any scented lotions or creams

  • If possible, use loose clothing for a few days after treatment

Do not use a razor to remove hairs in between appointments. This defeats the purpose of and decreases the benefits of sugaring. no gym, saunas or hot showers. If you do, you run the risk of creating a lovely warm environment for bacteria to multiply, resulting in spots and irritation.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a  procedure that works by sending the light of a laser through the pigment in the hair. This (light) converts to heat, which damages the hair follicle and hair bulb.

It takes two or three weeks after your first treatment to see a difference, and 8 -12 treatments to get the full result.

Aside from clearer, smoother skin and permanent hair reduction, laser hair removal also boasts benefits including helping to reduce ingrowing hairs and less irritation of the skin.

Depending on your hair growth and each individual clients' case, at the end of the treatments we may recommend some top up treatments which could take place with larger periods in between quarterly, or twice a year.

THE PREP

  • The area must be cleanly shaved within 24 hours prior to the treatment. Electric razors are not recommended as the hair is typically left too long.

  • Do not tweeze, wax or pluck the area being treated between or prior to sessions. Only shave the area.

  • The treatment area needs to be free from makeup, lotion, deodorant and sun cream- inform us before treatment starts if you require wipes.

  • The area cannot be treated if it has been exposed to sun within 4 weeks prior to treatment.

  • Fake tanning products cannot be used 3-4 weeks prior to treatment; the area should be thoroughly exfoliated to remove all residues.

  • Redness & Bumps are normal

  • Cleanse the area treated gently

  • Dead hairs will begin to shed 5-30 days after your treatment

  • Exfoliate after 48 hrs to speed up hair shedding

  • Do not pick/scratch/wax/thread/tweeze the area

  • Hair growth varies

It's important to remember that the heat from the laser stays in your skin for 24 hours. That means no gym, saunas or hot showers. If you do, you run the risk of creating a lovely warm environment for bacteria to multiply, resulting in spots and irritation.
